When I started my demo I did not expect to remove the side bunks but the deeper I got, the more rot I found. What year is your Mag? If you find rot in the transom I would consider rebuilding the side bunks also as this will allow for a stronger transom. I built my rear casting deck assuming I was keeping the switches on the inside, but I don't require frequent access to the switches. Here's some pics, let me know if you have ?s
