Subject: RE: Question about water pump

The motor is a mercury 115 elpto. I used some 80 lb mono line and feed it up thru the water outlet and there did seem to be some green junk that started to break up and come out but it was a very small amount(not enough to clog it up in my opinion and that was without the motor running) so i thought maybe if i put some muffs on the motor and did the same thing it might force what ever out easier.
Thanks for the replies I guess i will try the wire and see if that gets anything else out.
If the water pump died would it show signs ahead of time or would it just give out? The reason I ask this is because until this time everytime the motor turned over the water would start flowing nicely right away.
Thanks again
