Yes, this is normal when you rev the motor like that in neutral. Typically, the only reason you'd want to rev the motor like that is when you first start the motor for the first time each day and it's a cold blooded motor. This isn't anything I'd be worried about because revving your motor that high isn't something you do on a regular basis in order to run the boat. Everytime I've ever had to rev a motor in order for it to warm up, it shakes violently like yours.
don't ever rev a cold engine to high rpms. you risk spinning a crank shaft bearing and your motor might as well be toasted. ask any mechanic (my father is a FAA and ASE certified mechanic). |
