Have them on the same side on this boat and my last boat also. The old rig was a deep V aluminum boat and the transducer was much closer to the kicker. Locator would show signs of being disturbed proportionally as the kicker speeds went up from 2 mph. On the new rig, the transducer is on the pad of a glass boat and farther away from the kicker. It still shows a trace of interference but you really have to look for it to see it. Not something objectional, like on the deep V, but interference is still present.

Had the kickers on opposite sides of these boats too. Then the aluminum boat was a bitch to get on the trailer because of the weight imbalance, but the interference was gone. The glass boat just wouldn't balance out right with the kicker on the other side where I wanted it so again it was moved to the transducer side.

It's all a matter of little compromises. Nothing ever seems to work out exactly as you had it envisioned.
