I had the same problem with my Tuffy and I run a Merc. It was a small fuel leak. My fuel line from the tank to the engine had about 6 pieces including the bulb and at each connection there was a plastic "zip tie" like what you would use to tie electrical wires together. I removed them all and got these metal crimp clamps from a local marina and made all the connections with these clamps and problem solved. Problem is you need special cv boot clamp pliers to make the crimps. I had a pair because I am an auto mechanic but not a tool most people have laying around.
