If you haven't installed it yet most electrical supply places sell a 1"x1" square plastic stick pad for attaching zip ties to to hold wires. If you clean the hull well with alcohol then stick the pads on they are stuck there well. A couple of small zip ties and the cable is held in place tight and there's no holes in the hull to worry about. I've used them on two boats of my own now and 2 that belong to others and haven't a problem.
