My dad tends to live and die in his old school ways. So for christmas the family chipped in and got him this unit lets just say he is still throwing out his bouy and using land to mark his spots. I have not had time to go and help him but i do think that it could be possible that he has not selected the appropriate region like you stated. But from what he tells me is that the card does not register in his map data and there for he does not have the option to select a region. I have downloaded a update off of the lowrance web page and i am going to attempt to upgrade his software tonight Tj i will give you a ring later if my attemps fail.
