I say, Keep the windshield on your boat. It can help you get up and down in rough water from the front deck(light presure hand rail). It can be like a glove compartment to store a few things when fishing. It can help a ton when it is cold in the morning(under 60-hehe) and especially when it is raining. It helps support a cover which it looks like you need. The only reason to take it off is to move one half closer to the other to make a nice snug fit if it's a full windshield. . After 8/10 years of bouncing on the water alot of times a full windshield developes a gap when closed.
