I've got a 38 as well that once in a while seemingly always about 20 minutes before the sun goes down it does that....is yours doing it about sunset?
could just be something w/ the sun/satellites etc???
the other thing is make sure there is nothing blocking your puck...has to have a clear view of the sky...setting a pop can near it will even mess it up....even a bunch of rod tips over the puck
Mine does lose position once in a while for no good reason and I have had to turn it off and back on but it clears it up....Hope you can figure yours out...so far mine has been a great unit despite a couple little quirks...
