Location: North/Central WI | Curious if any one else has had the following issue with their V2 trolling motor foot pedal. When it gets wet, a connection is made with the water and the motor will run by itself when it is in the momentary mode. I assume there must a small hole in the board caused by grit where water is entering and allowing the connection to be made. I have had this trolling motor for about 2 years and this is the 3rd foot pedal I have had this issue with. Chuck Brod at Sportsmens Repair shop has said the problems with the V2 foot pedal have been far and few between. He doesn't know of anybody else besides me that has had this occur. I spend about 600 hrs a year fishing muskies and my equipment gets used, but I find it pretty odd that no one else has experienced this. I feel this could be a safety issue. If the water temp is 38 degrees and you are by yourself, you could have serious problems if your trolling motor begins to operate when you are not expecting it. Thanks for any feedback...
