I currently have a '08 1760GC with a 140 Suzuki 4 str. I do not troll all the time but do a little, mainly in the fall. The 140 will troll down to 2.3 mph. without much vibration at ilde. Its goes about 40 mph. fully loaded with a 4 blade prop. most likely faster with a 3 blade SS. The hole shot is great. The 140 is also light for a 4 stroke. This motor is also very quiet. As far as big water, Mille Lacs is my home water and I can get out almost all the time, It will take honest 3 footers and fours, if you like excitement!! I do not have a kicker mainly becuse I don't troll much, but I have seen bad things happen to them going fast in real high seas. The 1760 will also be a good fit for shallow water but you will still need to find an access that do not have a "Hump" as the trailer has a downward V to fit the keel and can get hung-up on the "Hump". I plan to have this Boat/Motor for a long time and just love her.
