Yep, that aluminum epoxy primer isn't cheap stuff. I did mine two years ago. Go down to your automotive paint store, a real one not the crappy auto zone, and they'll give you what you need. Mine was a two part deal that I had to mix together. Make sure that you're ready to spray the same day after you scuff your aluminum since I was told that it starts to oxidize right away and that the longer you wait the less adhesion you will have.

It might be worth it to go down to the body shop and ask them what they would quote to just put the primer on the boat.
