The downspouts also work well in the middle front deck compartment as an "in deck bait box". They stack together perfectly in 6 wide rows and have enough give that they hold themselves in place without any need to glue them together or fasten. I also use round PVC pipe glued together to make bait storage in the big compartmetns. Also have a PVC pipe threaded through under the gunnel in the narrow space between the side console and freeboard on the starboard side to serve as a rod tube or to store the stearn nav light.

Would love to see a photo of the rod locker modification. There is a narrow factory slot that I use on my boat that you can thread the rod tip through by pressing it against the freeboard when pushing it into the rod locker. Also need to wrap the free end of the line around the rod blank a few times to prevent threading rods together. Kind of a pain but it works. Once in a while I have to glue a rod guide ceramic back in place due to catching a line guide on the way in or out. A tube installed in this location would be very useful.

Photo 1 shows under deck lure storage.
Photo 2 shows the PVC starboard rod tube
Photo 3 shows the factory slot in the rod locker extending into the front compartment (which would be well served to widen)
Click on the photos to see the whole thing...
