I just know you are going to love me for this. You lock the ball to the hitch with a pin lock, then you lock the trailer onto the hitch with another...but all the thief needs is a crescent wrench to take the nut off under the ball and simply get a friend to quickly lift the ball right from the hitch to an empty hole on his hitch in about a minute flat. The simple way to mess him up? Just place a goodly bead of weld on the bottom from the nut to the bolt and then all is secure. That is, unless you are dealing with a serious bad guy.
