Location: Tinley Park. Fish Cen IL. Bass & Vilas Cty.Muskie | If you have any security tips for boat and trailer- please reply. I alway at least drape the cover over the boat if I am leaving my boat for a few hours. I also am a big fan of coupler and trailer locks when I am on vacation and leave my boat at loney boat ramps. I just bought a Loc R bar for my compartments. I am glad I have the Bar but this might be a little overkill. It is a super heavy bar that goes across my front compartments. I use it when my boat is stored by my house or when I am leaving the boat for a day or two. I have a ton of good rods(mostly bass) in my compartment and a bunch of equipment in the others. It only takes a big screwdriver to pop a lid. Who uses motion detectors (baby ?) in their boat ? How much and what brand ? Do you set them at 5 feet ? Do they work under a boat cover or when cover is picked up ? I am not a security nut,I just have noticed I leave my boat parked on a sidestreet for several hours or the back of a bar restaurant for a couple hours and I have about $4000 in the boat. What does it take to press a button on a pop can(motion detector) so no one is looking in your boat. if you read this, How about a reply ? ? You really have to be careful when going to a Bar on a friday night when you go up somewhere for a weekend. I fished a Lake by the Frontier club(adult) North Twin and they had alot of thiefs. As soon as you came into the bar, somone would go out to your boat and another guy would watch you with his cell phone on to warn the thief. Just be careful, throw a sweatshirt over your good reels when you leave the boat. Have a GREAT 2009. Roy
