Depends a lot on the boat layout and how many people you generally fish with. More than 2 people and the console could get in the way. If the boat has a rear casting platform, that will give you more fishing room.
The 2nd console is nice for the passenger but also sheilds you when you get caught in big water with a wind from that side. I prefer the dual console boats like a Tuffy 1990 Pro series.
