I spoke to a service technician from mosinee and and I guess it is the compass that is bad. Also found out that in bigger waves and if the motor is going up and down from the waves it throws the compass off. Seems kind of strange because isn't this when you really need the auto pilot!! Thank you for the input on this problem.
