I dont know if your problem has to do with this but I thought I might add it:

The trolling motors with the US2 (Universal Sonar 2) cannot be connected in a trolling motor circuit that connects the trolling motors to cranking battery by way of a ground wire. This includes most "charge on the run" systems. Also, Depthfinders using the US2 cannot be connect to either trolling motor battery. They must be connect to a separate circuit from the trolling motor. The trolling motors with the US2 have the transducer grounded internally to reduce the chance of interferance. This grounding will cause a short through the depth finder circuit if the depth finder is connected in the same circuit as the trolling motor batteries.
