My main motor is a 115 Yamaha and no kicker motor. However, I do sometimes troll with my 65 lb electric trolling motor. By using the trolling motor, it is much easier to locate the lure precisely and one can really slow it down. For instance, one can slow roll a spinner bait with a trolling motor pretty easily. Try that some time when the fishing is slow.
