The last couple times I've seen it make a difference were in Canada on trout water, running lures in 25-50 feet of water. Once when the kicker was just not getting it done in 3+ footers, twice in normal conditions, and the other time was different because the kicker died and I was forced to use the big motor. But, there was also another variable that last time, it had changed from cloudy for days in a row to sunny for just a few hours and that just might have influenced the fish more than the motor used.

All I know was a few times for muskies the big motor seemed to make a difference and not always because it improved boat control. I just wish there was some way to be sure what the results were from and why.
