Location: Kodiak, AK		Check the owner's manual. It'll specify the minimum guage wire required. We have no idea what guage wire you have in your boat now, so it's impossible to say if it's heavy enough. It could be speaker wire, or it could be 5/16" cable! lol

As far as the battery hook up, Google "battery series parallel" You'll get all kinds of diagrams and instruction.

And yes, a TM install is an afternoon and very straightforward.
