The bigger Xpress boats ride great. The hull is well designed, and there are few aluminum bassboats that compare. They are also pretty quick, with a lot of them in the mid 70's for speed. The smaller ones though I've read about (and seen with my own eyes) extreme porpoising. But there may be a few things that can be done to fix that. As far as bad in rough water, I doubt it. I had an Alumacraft bassboat that did great in the river even when it was rough. I had it on a few lakes over 5,000 acres as well. I never felt unsafe in it. The bow does a great job cutting waves. The only thing that I really hated was going slow across waves with the low sides...they would go right over the sides and you will get wet.
