I have a 16ft yar craft with a 55pd with auto pilot. Moves boat good except for some of the really windy days. I you were going to go with the 24 volt system I would personally get 2 new batteries of the same size. I hooked up 2 batteries of the same size and age on my 12volt system just hooked them up in parralell so I still had 12 volts going to the motor just double the capacity. If money was not a problem I would go with the 24volt terova. Just my 2cents.
