I don't think the 618T is considered a 'shallow tiller', unless you'd call the 620T a shallow tiller as well. It is the same boat as the 620T, with 2' taken out of the mid-section. Don't mistake the tiller model for the 618 console, which is much shallower.

I run a 690T with a yamaha 90 4 stroke. It is the earlier version of the 618T, though slightly deeper. The fuel mileage is really good, though I am comparing it to the basic 2 stroke Merc. that was on the back when I bought it, which was a poor performer fuel-wise on that rig. The 4 stroke will give you about 37mph top-end, with a decent hole shot once propped correctly.
