Location: Fairfield, IA | I have a Lowarance X-135 on a new UltraCraft I bought last summer. It is Ram mounted on the console so I can spin it around and view from the bow. I would like to put something on the bow this year. The X-135 is user friendly and seems to go a good job. I have read a lot on flashers and am wondering if that might be a better option.
I know the X-135 has a Flasher option on it but I have not used it. My thought on that is a pure Flasher will do better than a Fishfinder that is trying to act like a Flasher.
My experience with Flashers was a long, long time ago when that seemed to be the primary technology. The guys I fished with probably did not know how to use them effectively, so it seemed to be use mainly as a depth measurement device only.
I have seen a lot of discussion on here and other sites about Vexilar and the advantages of using a Flasher. My fishing is crappie, bass, rivers and taking the kids out and having a lazy day on the boat. We also will do some Wisconsin fishing.
If I am going to spend another chunk of money, I want to make certain I spend wisely and get something that will help with other species.
Lookig for advise from people who really understand both technologies.
Thanks,
Dave. |
