I'm the guy that had to redo his boat.

First off, I hope the ants were just hitch hikers. Second off, the ant killer will get rid of all of the ants. I did one quick spray, and they all died. It doesn't take much when they are trapped on your boat.

I would check all of the screws to make sure they are tight. If you find some loose ones, put some silicone in the hole and retighten them. If you can't get the screw tight, go up to the next biggest size screw. If that still doesn't work, you may have some floor rot.

Poking around with a screw driver won't tell you that much. Most of the rot will start underneath things that are screwed down. Plus, the top of the floor will be pretty firm because you still have the fiberglass layer that won't rot.
