I lifted up a lid to my dry storage this morning and noticed an ant crawling around the edge. Grabbed it...yep carpenter ant. I found a couple others when I got home from work this evening. I just spent the last 5 hours cleaning everything out of the boat and spraying everything down with ant killer. I also set Terro Liquid Ant Baits in the rod storage, dry storage, and under the console. Then I went through the entire boat poking around with a screw driver and I can't find any soft spots so I am hoping I only had a couple hitch hikers from somewhere.

I fished a couple days in the rain last weekend and haven't been home much to pull the boat out of the garage so the carpet and around the lids are still moist. Hopefully they were just attracted to that as I have never seen them before.

Any other suggestions on what I should do to check for damage? I remember a post on here last year where the guy had to completely redo his boat. Trying to avoid that. Also, any other suggestions on what to do to shake these ants? Thanks!
