2004 Crestliner 1750 Fishhawk will take an 8.5' rod. They now call this the 1700 Fishhawk and the new 1750's have a center rod locker in the bow which I am not sure will take a rod of this length. Slide the rod along the freeboard and there is a slot that leads into you front compartment allowing longer rods to be stored on this edge. I keep an 8.5' and 8.0' in the locker on this side along with two 7.5' rods. See the attached photo showing the rod tips in the front storage compartments.

Esox50 - if you have the side rod locker I would bet you can do the same.

A tip for preventing a mess in your rod locker - after cliping the free end of your line on the hoop on the bottom of your rod, wrap it around the rod and hoop it on one of your rod guides so that the line can't snag other rods. See attached photo which describes this better than I can type it. This is especially helpful when using the slot because when you flex the rod withoug wrapping the free line, it tends to open away from the rod guides making it easier to snag other rods.
