I will reinforce what other have already have said - the 8'6" telescoping rods from Okuma are fantastic rods.  They're great rods at any price, when you consider the small price tag they are truly awesome.  I don't have any yet but have thrown with them using clients's rods.  What surprises me is that the telescoping part of the rod doesn't seem to be a problem.  Like a lot of guys, I thought the telescoping part would be a vulnerable spot that would be failure-prone.  I haven't heard of anyone having a problem.  Also, I've had clients launching big plastics without a problem.  That telescoping part seems to hold up pretty good.

Just a couple ideas.  Don't worry about leaving the rods on the deck.  If you have to have them locked for security, consider the telescoping rods instead of a new boat.[/QUOTE]
