Lowrance just sent me a new transducer, didn't even ask for the old one back, and I installed it and it works like a champ.

Only slight issue is poor performance at or over 38mph is poor due to prop cavitation from tilting the motor up high to max rpm's and speed, but I can live with that.

Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions. I am guessing Lowrance had a bad batch of transducers out there, but as usual, apart form the long hold time, their customer service people came through.
