check out the photo of where the Lock n Stow is installed. I think the idea is to take the stress off the lift system rather than the transom. I've seen discussions that the 'transom saver' will transfer the bumping and twisting of the trailer to the lower end of the motor, wrenching it around on the transom. This device is supposed to eliminate that. m
