If you are mechanically inclined in any way you should be able to do it yourself. I did it on my mariner 75hp, 4 bolts and 1 lock nut and the lower unit is off. 4 bolts and the water pump housing is off. Pretty simple. The main thing is to not turn the input shaft on the lowerunit so that it lines up with the crank when you reinstall the lower unit, not a big deal if you do just easier to line it up again.
