You have to be moving fast enough for the gps to register a "speed over ground" reading otherwise it will just think you are in the same spot. I have had grey plug, blue plug, and now red plug gps units from lowrance and they all would do this. If you are getting a speed reading then it should update your position. At least mine always do.
