Can't you ask Tuffy for a small container of gel coat, and then just sand it and re-apply a new layer?

A few years ago I owned a Key West fiberglass boat, and had a small chip in the gel coat on the chine. So I called KW and they offered to send me a pint of the gel coat to repair it. Well, I ended up selling the boat, but the point is that the manufacturer has the gel coat for your boat--and if the damage is truly to the gel coat, then get some from Tuffy and fix the damage. The color may not match *exactly* of course, but a slight mismatch is far better than a big ding in that spot!
