Jono, I used rubbing alcohol to clean before applying the matting. Apply matting on flat surfaces only (works great). I learned the hard way, do not go over curved areas, the adhesive on the rubber matting is not very good and will peel up. Also, if i was to do it over again, i would remove the trolling motor first and than cover the whole front end like the newer models.
