I recently replaced the trolling motor on my boat. I now have a 1996 Evinrude Trolling Motor, bow mount, foot control, 24 volt, for which I have no need. It has some age but worked fine last time out. Any ideas on how to price and market the unit? I suppose I could eBay it, but have never done so, and shipping would be an issue.

I had a 1995 (I think) 12 volt Evinrude. I don't think it even said what the pound thrust was, and it had a fairly short shaft. I sold it probably three years ago on Ebay and I think I got somewhere around $150 plus maybe $50 for shipping. It was in okay shape, but definately used with some paint missing on the motor, etc. They actually seem to sell for a surprising amount of money. To get an idea, do an advanced search on Ebay in the 'completed listings for Evinrude trolling motors. I think you have to have an Ebay account to search completed listings, though you can maybe just sign in as a guest. If your motor is in good shape I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for over $200.

they were nice motors in the day. I would ebay it. Put a reserve on 75 bucks for your trouble. This way you will make a minumun of 75 on it.

Try putting it on MuskieFirst buy/sell/trade board, I bet you get 'bit'. Shipping trollers isn't a real big problem, and I see a lot of guys arrange to meet folks to exchange. m

Jeff - no idea of the thrust rating. It came on my boat as a part of the package. None of the documentation discussed pounds of thrust.

All - thanks for the suggestions. Once I get a photo I may place it on the board for offers.
