Location: minocqua, wi.		just buy some rope at the hardware store and re-tie. it isn't a "special" rope, it's a rope ... almost broke my neck when i fell after breaking mine ...

oh, and always keep some extra rope in the boat for next time it happens. worst case if you have no rope connected you can use a long-nosed plier to stow and deploy ... lol ... did that for almost a whole season and it actually works pretty well once you get used to it.
