Location: minocqua, wi.		my ranger had a minn-kota installed ... crapped out this year going into it's 4th season ... i replaced with a pro-mariner after asking the same questions you are asking ... haven't looked back, havent ever before experienced the "don't even think about your batteries" attitude that i have now. regardless buy enough banks to touch your cranking battery too.

i'm happy with my pro-mariner choice ..
