Steve W., or anybody else.....

I've got a 1980 Tuffy Roustabout that I am doing a total redo on. I have gutted the insde down to the bare wood. I replaced the rotten center floor with wood that was coated with resin and fiberglassed in. The inside is done until I recarpet. Now I am the point of doing work on the outside.

I am ready to start sanding the hull. I have filled all holes and imperfections with auto body filler. I am now ready to start sanding. Any recomendations on what grit paper I should start with and what grit should I finish with before taking it to paint?

I am doing all the prep work myself to save some $$$! Any info and help would be much appreciated.

Is there a special type of paint or additive to the paint so it can flex with the hull without cracking? I was told use the same paint that auto body shops use on the plastic or ABS pieces on cars or trucks.
