Subject: minn kota problem


I have a Minn Kota Maxxum cable foot pedal 65lb thrust on my boat. Today my bro called me to tell me it crapped out on him. It was working and then suddenly quit and will not respond. I am almost 100% sure the batteries were fully charged. Any possible ideas? The motor is 5 years old and we have not had any problems until now. It doesnt get a ton of use compared to some on this board.
If it really died on me, what suggestions do you guys have for a new one. I am not against a power drive type with a longer cable/wire. Just not something in the $1500 plus range.
