all you need to do is push the plate along side of the zerk. If it gives a bit, you have enough grease...

If you over-grease to the point that grease is coming out the back seal, you'll have problems.

I have always felt that if you pull the hub apart every fall and re-pack with new seals, adding grease to the hub is a moot point. I have dunked my trailer numerous times, and I still get no water in there for th short time it's in the water..
