I ran a Crestliner 1850 for two years with a 140 on the back. It was a much heavier rig and I had a 65# PD on it. Only a couple times did I wish I had more power, and that was in pretty extreme conditions.

I think power wise a 70 should be fine, I am running an Tuffy 1890 with a 200 now and am running an 80# and have never needed more. 80#'s is a butt load of thrust. May be a bit overkill for the Alaskan.
