Did we talk about this in Fleet Farm?
I installed some of the LED red rope lighting on my buddies boat. Really works well installed under the gunwales and does not blind you. It was easy to install and can be cut to any length you need (can be cut every 6") I had him order it from http://www.sailorsams.com/mall/led-rope-lights.asp Not sure if this will work on a boat without gunwales but you could always store it coiled up and then pull it out when you need it?
