That makes sense Shep about the TM plug being made for both 12 and 24V systems. Why create 2 different wiring plugs if not needed. That also explains why nothing happened when I wired both of them up (as previously done in my boat by the last owner). I wired them to the same battery which was already wired in parallel meaning both wires were running 12V power.

So Fisher, just use the 2 wires that make the motor work and tuck away the other 2. I wouldn't remove them just in cause you pick up a 24V system later on.
