My brother's boat has a bow mounted 36" shaft trolling motor. Can you buy a longer shaft and splice wires? I would get a new one for it but the nose is such that a 50" shaft would stick out 2ft out the side of the boat because of the front light plug location. This mount makes for easy removal of the motor and would I like that style. Looking for a hand control model even If I could just get a motor but the way the mounts look the motors are not removable from them.
