I drive a 2005 Fish Hawk 1750.

My puck has been held to the gunnel directly to the right and forward a bit (slightly in front of the windshield. I took delivery of the new boat right from the dealer, and I never liked the set up, and have just had a Lowrance 3600 GPS with internal antenna mounted on the right where my Lowrance 337 (sonar/gps) was mounted, and I have now moved the 337 over to the left (the ram mount sits within the cup holder on the left hand side of the dash). Of course I would love to have purchased a Lowrance 113, (and not have multiple units sitting on my dashboard), but the $2K+ price tag was a little steep.

I can say that I never really had any problems with the puck mounted/attached to the gunnel. It's just that it always seemed out-of-place. However, mounting that puck directly on to the dash would probably result in the glue from the bottom pad (onto which the puck is held by velcro) getting all over the back plastic on the dash ... and that would really be annoying.

An imperfect set up to be sure.

Craig
