Subject: Trolling motor battery life?

I have a couple of deep cell batteries hooked up to a 24V motor that have served me well for three seasons. I Keep them on a trickle charger year round and check/replace water regularly. On the last trip of the year they were fading towards the end of a hard day. I would like to keep using them as long as possible. How can I tell what life they have left in them without finding out the hard way? Can I take them to an auto center and have them tested?

Thanks,
Bruce
