Location: lansing, il		when i bought my boat 7 years ago the law was..you could register it in any state you wish as long as the boat is in that state for 6 months + 1 day. in otherwords you could be a illinois resident, but keep your boat in wisconsin and have a wisconsin registration on it! your address on the wisconsin boat registration would be your home address.
