Subject: Tuffy 1800 T help needed

I'm currently looking at a used Tuffy 1800T that has some damage. I'm unable to locate the Coast Guard plate so I'll tell you what I know. According to the current owner it is a 1990 or 1991. There is a hole that leaks right under the bunk on the right side. He says it is from wearing against the corner of the bunk. I really can't see it that well until I roll it a bit on the trailer.

Anyway, is there anyone who has heard of this happening before? Can I just patch the hole with new fiberglass? What will prevent this from happening again? I'm assuming that the warranty for the hull has expired? Would the Tuffy factory take it in for repairs? Anybody know a good glass man around the Twin Cities?

Next......it has a Yamaha 60 horse on it, is that the max that the boat was rated for, or is it under powered?

Last but not least............the finished is really oxydized is there any product that will bring the shine back to the exterior?

I'm open to hearing any info on this boat pro or con.

Thank you for your time.......
