I run the same motor on a Crestliner CVX182. Motor rated max RPM is 6000. I run a Yamaha SS 19 pitch prop @ 5950 RPM and it gets 44 MPH on GPS. With a 19 pitch aluminum, I run 42 MPH @ 6000 RPM. I agree with Shep that with your slightly smaller boat and a 17 pitch aluminum prop, you are probably over revving your motor. Go to a 19 pitch stainless and you will be happy with the results.
